BIRMINGHAM — The third and fourth homicides of the weekend in Birmingham occurred Sunday evening, Birmingham Police Sgt. Johnny Williams said. This time, in the eastern part of the city and both victims are teenagers.
Williams said the latest shootings occurred on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at approximately 5:20 p.m.
“Officers from the East Precinct responded to a call of shots fired and a person down in the 200 block of Tucker Avenue,” Williams said. “Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims lying in the roadway unresponsive. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived with the Jefferson County Coroner and pronounced both subjects deceased on the scene.”
The victims have been identified as Kendall Jamal Shack, 18, and Ivey Carter Wilson III, 18. Both teens are from Birmingham.
The incident remains under investigation and no suspects are in custody at this time.
On Sunday morning, a man was shot in the west precinct and later died of his wounds at the hospital.
Saturday evening, a 5-year-old child was shot and killed on Fred Shuttlesworth Drive.
