HOOVER — A man was shot in the face in Hoover on Sunday in what authorities believe was a targeted act.
The incident occurred early Sunday morning in the 400 block of O’Neal Drive. According to media reports, an individual approached a vehicle sitting outside a home and fired a single shot at the two occupants inside the vehicle.
The round hit a man in the face and lodged in his cheekbone. The other occupant was not injured.
The injured man was transported to UAB Hospital. He was treated and released soon thereafter.
According to AL.com, detectives believe that the shooting was not a random act.
The suspect is described as a black male wearing a dark hoodie.
