From The Trussville Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — Some Hewitt-Trussville High School students got a special visit by industry professionals on Tuesday, Nov. 19.
Foundry in a Box spent the day with the students. The team of casting professionals discussed how castings are created from 3D designs and 3D prints to mold-making and metal pouring.
The students were able to see how software is used to make patterns for molds and they were even able to cast their own parts by pouring liquid tin into molds.
Foundry in a Box is made up of volunteers from several local casting companies. Some of the volunteers were from companies in Trussville.
