BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham is tracking a system that could bring severe storms to central Alabama on Monday, Dec. 16.
Damaging straight-line winds, tornadoes, rain and quarter-size hail will be possible, according to the NWS.
The system is expected to enter into the state overnight Sunday, from the west.
The biggest threat is expected to be in the western part of the state. The most unstable environment will be available across the northwest.
After the system passes, drier, cooler air is expected.
