BLOUNT COUNTY — A crash in Blount County claimed the life of an Oneonta man on Saturday, according to Senior Trooper Chuck Daniel of the Alabama State Troopers Office.
The two-vehicle collision at 2:05 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 14, has claimed the life of Cedric R. Polk, 51, Daniel said in a statement released on Sunday.
Polk was killed when the 1998 Honda CRV he was driving collided with the rear of a 1995 Ford dump truck.
“Polk, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene,” Daniel said. “The driver of the dump truck was not injured.”
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 75, 5 miles north of Pinson.
No further information is available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.
