ASHVILLE — The St. Clair County School system made the decision to end all activities by 5 p.m. Monday, due to the threat of severe weather.
The school system said no activities will be allowed after that time because the top priority is student safety.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said there is a threat for severe storms from 4 p.m. Monday until 7 a.m. Tuesday across Central Alabama. Tornadoes, damaging straight-line winds and large hail are possible.
The biggest risk will be west of Interstate 65, but all of central Alabama is at risk for damaging storms.
