Yet again, just one girls’ basketball team with The Trussville Tribune coverage area made it into the top 10 of the updated basketball Alabama Sports Writers Association rankings.
Hewitt-Trussville, which knocked off Class 5A No. 2 Ramsay this week following losses to Pleasant Grove and No. 1 Hoover, jumped up a spot to No. 5 in Class 7A.
The only other area team making a play for top 10 status is Clay-Chalkville, which sits at 6-5 on the season. The Cougars sit just outside the Class 6A top 10.
