TRUSSVILLE — Just days removed from signing his national letter of intent to play football at the University of Alabama, Hewitt-Trussville senior safety Malachi Moore was announced as a member of the 2019 USA TODAY All-USA Defensive Team, which is merited out to the top players in the country.
The 6-foot, 180-pound defensive back is expected to enroll with the Crimson Tide in the coming weeks. He finished his career with the Huskies with 156 total tackles, five interceptions, one fumble recovery and 19 passes deflected.
He will next join an Alabama team that lost two regular season games for the first time in nine years. The current Alabama 2020 recruiting class sits at No. 2 in the nation, according to 247Sports. Moore is one of 19 four-star recruits committed to the Tide. There are currently three five-stars in the Tide’s 2020 recruiting class.
Moore is set to participate in the upcoming 2020 All-American Bowl, which will be played in the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 4, 2020. The event will host the top 100 high school football players in country in an East vs. West battle.
