BIRMINGHAM — Police in Birmingham are conducting a homicide investigation after a man was found shot to death in his home early Friday morning. The shooting occurred at approximately 1 a.m., Sgt Johnny Williams said.
The victim was identified as Fredrick Adams, 32, of Birmingham.
Officers from the South Precinct responded to a call of a person shot at 832 24th Street South.
When officers arrived, they located the victim inside the kitchen area of the apartment unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue arrived with the Jefferson County Coroner and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene.
“Officers learned that the victim responded to a knock at the back door of the apartment shortly before he was shot,” Williams said. “Currently there are no motives or suspects in this investigation.”
