BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham has much of central Alabama at a marginal risk for severe storms on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019.
Unseasonably mild weather conditions will start during the day, but a cold front is expected to move in late Sunday. Showers and storms, including some severe storms, could impact the region.
The marginal risk means there could be brief tornadoes and wind speeds up to 60 mph, according to the weather service. The threat is expected between 12 p.m. and midnight.
The weather service will continue to update the forecast as the system moves closer.
