BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for several counties in central Alabama, including Jefferson and St. Clair counties.
The weather service issued a Tornado Watch for several western counties and the system producing strong winds is expected to make its way across the state Sunday evening.
Other counties are Marion, Lamar, Fayette, Winston, Walker, Blount, Etowah, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne, Pickens, Tuscaloosa, Shelby, Talladega, Clay, Randolph, Sumter, Greene, Hale, Perry, Bibb, Chilton, Coosa, Tallapoosa, Chambers, Marengo, Dallas, Autauga, Lowndes, Elmore, Montgomery, Macon, Bullock, Lee, Russell, Pike and Barbour Counties.
There is a marginal risk for isolated tornadoes and damaging winds.
The threat expires at 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 30.
