BIRMINGHAM — The first homicide of 2020 was recorded on Sunday evening after a woman was found shot to death in Birmingham’s Inglenook neighborhood.
According to AL.com, East Precinct officers heard shots fired while out on patrol at around 10 p.m. A call then came in that said that a woman had been shot. After locating the woman on the front porch of a home at 3838 39th Court, the officers transported her to UAB Hospital where they pronounced her dead just after 11 p.m.
Another person was also transported to the hospital via private vehicle with a gunshot wound that was deemed to be non-life-threatening.
No suspects are in custody at this time.
