BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham’s third homicide of the year occurred late Wednesday night when authorities located a man suffering from gunshot wounds in the Killough Springs neighborhood.
Officers from the Birmingham Police Department’s East Precinct responded to a call at around 9:30 p.m. when they happened upon the victim, Tristian Jackson, 36, of Montgomery, unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound inside a house on the 300 block of Killough Springs Road.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue and the Jefferson County Coroner arrived at the scene and pronounce Jackson dead.
Reports indicate that Jackson had arrived at a relative’s house when he was shot as he entered the garage. Jackson managed to get inside the house where he collapsed. No suspects are in custody and no other people were injured in the incident.
A homicide investigation is ongoing.
