The weekly Alabama Sports Writers Association Boys Basketball poll was released late Wednesday night with somewhat of a shocking revelation as Pinson Valley jumped into the No. 1 spot following a week in which the Indians defeated Clay-Chalkville and Lanier.
The Indians have not lost since falling to Huffman on Dec. 17. The Vikings, somewhat questionably, dropped five spots to No. 5 despite losing just one game since November. In fact, Huffman twice defeated Pinson Valley this season.
Pinson Valley has been trending upward as of late. Led by the nation’s top-five scorer, Kam Woods, along with a plethora of talent all throughout the roster, the Indians are riding a nine-game winning streak and are on track to wrap the final quarter of the season with one of the best records in program history.
