Birmingham — Moody track and field’s Will Grames placed a bow on the Martin Luther King Indoor Track Classic on Monday after placing first in the Class 1A-5A boys’ long jump.
The senior just beat out Beauregard High School’s Keyshawn Tolefree by just one inch with an overall distance of 20-03.50. Tolefree finished in second place with a distance of 20-02.50.
As a team, Moody finished in 16th place with a score of 14 points. The field was out of 41 teams. The winning team, Randolph, finished with a score of 42. Moody just so happened to be the highest ranking team out of the three schools within The Trussville Tribune coverage area (Moody, Springville, Center Point).
The Blue Devils concluded the meet with one other top 10 finisher, who just so happened to be Grames. He placed in fifth in the boys’ 400m dash with a time of 51.07.
