BIRMINGHAM — The National Weather Service in Birmingham is tracking storms closely across Alabama.
The NWS issued a tornado watch for central Alabama but canceled the watch around 8:30 p.m.
Jefferson and St. Clair Counties are also under a flash flood watch. Two to four inches of rain are possible through 6 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6.
There is one damage report in West Alabama. Two barns were destroyed and trees were downed Greensboro, in Hale County.
The NWS has gotten reports of hail in St. Clair County and Etowah County. Quarter-size hail was also reported in Shelby County and pea-size hail was reported between Vernon and Sulligent.
The NWS reminds everyone to be weather aware and if you come across flooding, turn around, don’t drown.
