JEFFERSON COUNTY — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office arrested a man in connection to the death of a 2-year-old boy in east Jefferson County.
Sylvester Corderyl Taylor, 31, is charged with capital murder.
Deputies and paramedics were called to the scene on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2020, at 7:09 p.m.
The child was taken from the scene in the 1100 block of Florentine Circle to Children’s of Alabama. The boy was not breathing and he later died.
“After investigation, it is clear that the child died as a result of injuries inflicted upon him by Taylor,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s report is not complete.
Taylor is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
