BIRMINGHAM — A man was found shot to death on Thursday afternoon in Ensley.
A homicide investigation was initiated by the Birmingham Police Department following an incident in the 2300 block of 27th Street, in Ensley, at around 4 p.m. According to Birmingham Police Sgt. Johnny Williams, West Precinct officers responded to a call of a person shot. Upon arrival to the scene, they happened upon a man unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
He was pronounced deceased by the Birmingham Fire and Rescue.
According to a media release, officers obtained information that the victim was approached by a man from between two homes and an argument ensued. The victim was then shot by the suspect, who fled the scene on foot.
No suspects are in custody. No information as to what prompted the shooting has been released.
