CULLMAN — A Cullman County sheriff’s deputy and his K9 partner were injured in an early morning Tuesday crash.
According to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, the deputy and the K9 went missing early Tuesday. Dispatch was unable to locate the pair after the deputy went radio silent. Fellow deputies went to look for the two and located them a short time later.
Upon arrival, the search party discovered that the deputy had wrecked his vehicle on HWY 69S and was unconscious. His K9 partner was also injured in the crash.
The deputy was taken to an area hospital.
His partner was transported to a local veterinarian.
There has been no update on either of their conditions. The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office said that there will be more information released later.
“We ask for the communities prayers for the deputy, his family and the Cullman County Sheriffs Office,” the department said in a statement.
