PINSON — Pinson Valley track and field senior Seth Lord inked is national letter of intent on Monday to further his track career at the University of West Alabama.
Lord, a four-year member of both the indoor and outdoor teams, recently concluded his final indoor season with the Indians having set multiple personal records, two of which came in the 2020 AHSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships (800-meter and 3,200-meter).
In his career at Pinson Valley, Lord set nine state records in the 800-meter, 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter runs.
“Proud coaching moment today,” Pinson Valley track and field head coach Adam Russell wrote on Facebook. “My number one distance runner signed to run cross country and track with the University of West Alabama this morning! I’m super proud of you Seth and I can’t wait to see what God has in store for you! Soli deo Gloria!”
Lord’s final indoor meet happened to be the AHSAA Indoor Track and Field Championships. There, he finished in 13th in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:08.60 (a person record) and sixth in the 3,200-meter run with a time of 10:05.85, which also happens to be a personal record.
