BIRMINGHAM — A person was found shot to death near east Birmingham’s Kingston neighborhood late Friday night.
The Birmingham Police Department has begun to investigate a homicide following a shot spotter call at around 9:05 p.m., on Friday, in the 4300 block of 12th Court North.
South precinct officers responded to a shot spotter call of two rounds discharged in the aforementioned location. Upon arrival to the scene, officers found the victim inside of a vehicle unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue along with Jefferson County Coroner promptly arrived to the scene and pronounced the victim deceased. Evidence at the scene prompted the investigators to classify the case as a homicide.
No suspects are in custody, and no motive has been established.
The investigation is ongoing.
