BIRMINGHAM — A witness being interviewed by Jefferson County deputies ended up in handcuffs after he gave a fake name, according to a press release.
Deputies were first called to Princeton Hospital on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, in reference to an investigation of a possible shooting. As they were interviewing a possible witness, they realized the witness was hiding something.
The deputies determined the person’s true identity and found he had an outstanding felony warrant.
As deputies were taking Ja’Mikel Antres Hackman, 22, into custody, they said they also found he was in possession of cocaine, methamphetamine, marijuana, identifications and credit cards of others.
Hackman is now facing charges of trafficking in stolen identities, illegal possession of a credit card, unlawful possession of a controlled substance, obstruction of justice, promoting contraband, unlawful possession of marijuana second degree and failure to appear for obstruction of justice. He is being held in the Jefferson County Jail with no bond.
Chief Deputy David Agee said upon further investigation, deputies determined there was no shooting.
