TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville City Council discussed a soon-to-be-vacant school board position during the workshop on Thursday, March 5, 2020.
Council members debated on whether to automatically reappoint Board of Education President Kathy Brown, whose position is expiring in May or to review applications by several people who have applied to serve on the board.
Councilmember Brian Plant said historically, the council has reappointed members who voiced interest in another term. However, at least two council members, Zack Steele and Perry Cook expressed they were interested in interviewing other applicants.
Council President Zack Steele said he hopes the council can vote on how to move forward with the appointment by the March 24 council meeting.
