ASHVILLE — The St. Clair County Sheriff participated in Read Across America Week, a national campaign to promote literacy.
Sheriff Billy Murray visited Mrs. Lauren Brascho’s 3rd-grade class at Coosa Valley Elementary School.
“Sheriff Murray enjoyed reading to the class for Read Week,” the sheriff’s office said in a press release. “The book selection was Officer Buckle and Gloria. Thank you to Mrs. Brascho for being a welcoming host.”
Sheriff Murray said he has plans to read at Odenville Elementary School on March 19.
“It is a fun day and a fun chance to interact with some of the bright students that we have in the county,” Murray said.
