ASHVILLE — A man awaiting trial for the 2017 death of his grandfather, in St. Clair County, is now back in jail after his bond was revoked.
Claude “CJ” Henry Williams, of Ashville, is charged with murder in connection to the death of Joe Montgomery, 89, of Ashville.
Williams was out on bond, but according to court documents, he failed to attend monitoring sessions, drug screens, and failed to pay for evaluations or monitoring fees, which are all parts of his bond conditions. His bond was revoked on March 4. He is now being held in the St. Clair County Jail.
Williams’ trial is currently scheduled to begin on May 11, 2020.
Montgomery was shot in the head at his Ashville home on Montgomery Drive in July of 2017.
