CENTER POINT — The Center Point outdoor track and field team hosted the program’s first meet this past Thursday to usher in a new season.
The Eagles hosted the Jefferson County High School League Meet No. 1, which consisted of 16 teams throughout the Birmingham area.
In the meet, Center Point had 13 athletes finish in the top 5 or better. The Eagles were led by the boys’ 4×400-meter relay team, which placed in first with a time of 3:49.63.

The girls paced the program with eight members on the team placing in the top five.

1600 METER RUN – Brandy Jamfi (3rd)
100 METER HURDLES – Janiah Leonard (5th)
300 METER HURDLES – Janiah Leonard (3rd); Jordan Thompson (4th)
4X100 METER RELAY – (2nd)
4X400 METER RELAY – (2nd)
The boys had five members finish in the top five of the Jefferson County High School League Meet No. 1.
