BIRMINGHAM — A man was fatally shot on Tuesday night in the eastern part of Birmingham.
The Birmingham Police Department has begun a homicide investigation into the death of Marcus Wilson, 22. He was gunned down in the 100 block of 71st Street North around 11 p.m. on Tuesday. Authorities state that the shooting proceeded an argument that began near Wahouma Park, which is just east of the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport.
According to officials, Wilson was walking near the park when an unknown person in a dark-colored sedan appeared. The two started to argue and the unknown person shot Wilson multiple times.
Wilson was transported to UAB Hospital following the shooting and was pronounced dead.
No other information has been released released.
