TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is investigating after someone stole several high-priced items from a truck that was disabled on the side of Interstate 59.
According to a police report, the owner of the Dodge truck left the vehicle on the side of the northbound lane, near Edwards Lake Road after experiencing car trouble. Sometime overnight, between Tuesday, March 3 and Wednesday, March 4, someone stole a toolbox, with assorted tools inside, a trailer hitch, a catalytic converter and mufflers from the truck.
The total value of the items stolen was estimated to be $2,940. If a suspect is identified in the theft, they could face charges of unlawful breaking and entering a vehicle and theft of property first degree.
