BIRMINGHAM — Beginning Friday at 10 a.m., Assurance Scientific Laboratories will offer drive-thru coronavirus testing at two locations in metro Birmingham.
According to the company website, Assurance has validated their test and received clearance from the FDA to begin testing.
Once tested, patients can receive their results within four hours, the lab said in a statement. The lab has the capacity to run up to 10,000 patient samples per day.
The testing sites will be at 2868 Acton Road in Birmingham and 727 Memorial Drive in Bessemer.
Healthcare providers can order the test through the company website, by email or by phone. Patients who do not have a healthcare provider can meet with one at the testing sites for assessment and consultation.
The patient’s insurance company will be billed for the testing charges. The cost to uninsured patients was not listed, but the company can be reached at 205-273-9424.
