BIRMINGHAM — Crime Stoppers of Metro Alabama is asking for the public’s help identifying a man seen stealing a gun from Birmingham Pistol Wholesale, on Highway 11.
Detectives with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said the man entered the store around 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 12. The man acted like he wanted to have a weapon serviced by staff. He then walked around the store, picked up a firearm and placed it in his waistband.
Surveillance images show the man leaving the store without paying for the gun.
The man is approximately 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs around 250 pounds. He is thought to be 24 to 40 years of age. The subject left in a black 2010 Toyota Camry with a drive-off tag.
