ST. CLAIR COUNTY — St. Clair County Schools Superintendent Mike Howard sent a letter to parents confirming a student at St. Clair County High School tested positive for COVID-19.
The student also attends the Virtual Preparatory School. The student’s parents told Howard they were unsure when the child contracted the virus.
Anyone who may have come in contact with the student over the past two weeks should take the appropriate precautions. If your child develops symptoms, you should call your doctor for further action. Also, avoid contact with people who are at a high-risk of developing severe symptoms such as the elderly and those with chronic illness.
The superintendent said because there are confirmed cases in the area, Wednesday, March 18, will be the final day for the lunch program. The school system will provide enough food for the rest of the week. The situation will be reassessed next week.
