FAIRFIELD — A woman was assaulted late Tuesday night as she arrived at her home in Fairfield, authorities said.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, the woman arrived at her home at the 300 block of 54th Street, in Fairfield, at around 11:45 pm. on Tuesday, March 17, when an unknown male grabbed her from behind as she exited her vehicle. Hearing her cries for help, the victim’s family inside the house rushed out to help as the suspect forced the woman down a road and into an alley. The suspect released the victim as the family rushed to her defense and fled the scene.
The victim was physically unharmed during the incident.
The sheriff’s office said that neither the victim or the family was able to identify the suspect.
As a result of the attack, the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division has increased patrols in the area. Detectives are currently investigating the alleged crime.
