WASHINGTON — The US treasury secretary announced on Friday that the tax deadline has been pushed back three months as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Secretary Steven Mnuchin tweeted that the tax deadline has been pushed from April 15 to July 15.
“We are moving Tax Day from April 15 to July 15,” Mnuchin said. “All taxpayers and businesses will have this additional time to file and make payments without interest or penalties.”

The White House has recently announced that it was deferring tax payments for 90 days.
Yet, Mnuchin advised people to still submit their tax forms now.
“I encourage all taxpayers who may have tax refunds to file now to get your money,” he said.
