IRONDALE — The Jefferson County School system sent a letter to parents, faculty and staff after a student at Irondale Community School tested positive for the coronavirus.
The school system is asking the community to watch closely for illness in anyone who may have been exposed to the student. They request you monitor for fever, cough, body aches or shortness of breath.
Superintendent Dr. Walter Gonsoulin said it is unclear when or how the student contracted the virus.
The school system was already performing deep cleaning inside all of its buildings.
