LEEDS – The Sonic Drive-In on Parkway Drive, in Leeds, is closed until further notice after an employee tested positive for coronavirus.
The drive-in posted on Facebook about the closure, saying the employee began showing symptoms at home and was immediately tested.
“He has not returned to the location since,” the post said.
The location was shut down immediately after learning of the positive test result. All employees at the location were notified and will remain under quarantine.
Bio-One Alabama has been called in to sanitize the restaurant and it will not reopen until the Jefferson County Health Department approves re-opening.
“We have many policies in place to prevent the spread of this virus such as every team member wearing gloves, checking temperatures of team members before allowing them to work, everyone following proper handwashing techniques every 20 minutes for 20 seconds, along with a lot of extra precautions we have taken over the last week at all of our locations which includes stalls being dedicated for Card / App transactions only and all cash payments going through drive-thru with one team member in gloves doing nothing else but the exchanging of payments with guests,” the restaurant posted on Facebook.
According to management, no other employees are showing symptoms at this time.
