BROOKSIDE — Two people from Center Point were arrested on Friday March 27, after officers from the Brookside Police Department said they were engaged in sex acts in the department’s parking lot.
The Brookside Police Department announced on Facebook that they apprehended Paula Garner and James Sanders, both of Center Point, around 3:30 p.m. after the two were discovered having sex in a vehicle.
According to officials, Garner and Sanders were approached by Brookside police officers after they witnessed the two on security cameras located on the premise. While speaking with the two, officers noted a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle. A K-9 officer, Cash, was called to the scene and positively alerted to the vehicle. The officers found crystal methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana and a firearm in the vehicle.
The officers did a “bang up job on this case,” the police department posted on Facebook.
Garner was scheduled for court-ordered community service to begin earlier this date. Sanders was her ride, according to police.
The two were arrested for numerous charges including possession of controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and indecent exposure. Sanders was also charged with felon in possession of a firearm. Sanders had additional misdemeanor warrants outstanding from outside agencies.
They were escorted into the Brookside Jail. Their vehicle was impounded.
