BESSEMER — The decomposing remains of a woman discovered under a mattress in Bessemer on Wednesday morning have been identified as a Midfield mother missing since February.
Authorities have identified the body as Tiffany Osborne, 30. She had been missing since Feb. 17. She was last seen in the Fairfield Highlands area of Midfield. She had left her home on Seventh Street and never returned. She was reported missing two days after.
Osborne was a mother to three children.
Her remains were discovered by a worker at 9:19 a.m. on Wednesday, April 1, at the end of an unfinished road in the 4200 block of Turin Drive just of off Lakeshore Parkway.
Authorities said that her body was wrapped and concealed under an old mattress in a makeshift landfill.
Her death is now being investigated as a homicide.
