On March 30, 2020, Emory “Booty” Peoples, 86, of Trussville, AL went home to be with the Lord to reunite with his Dad (EM), his Mother (Louise), his older brother (Bo), and a host of Towers’, Peoples’, Carroll’s and dear friends who passed before him.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mattie Sue Peoples, his son Bryan Peoples (Cindia) and his daughter Darlene Smith (Zeke), his brother George Earl Peoples (Linda), his sister Nancy Myers, six grandchildren and spouses, six great grandchildren, and an extended family that are too many to mention, but that he loved dearly and they loved him as well.
Honorary pallbearers, at the request of Booty Peoples, are Dan Sims and his entire Sunday School Class. Booty Peoples’ life will be honored and celebrated at his home in Trussville from 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Saturday April 4, 2020. A procession, led by Trussville police and fire officials will begin in the First Baptist Trussville parking lot at noon and proceed to the Peoples’ home on Happy Hollow Road.
A Celebration of the life of Emory Booty Peoples will take place at 7721 Happy Hollow Rd, Trussville,AL 35173 on Saturday April 4, 2020. In light of the Coronavirus crisis we face, we have developed a service that will allow all who wish to honor Booty Peoples and/or his family with no personal contact or risks.
Visitation will be conducted as a drive through funeral procession led by the Trussville Police Department and Trussville Fire Department. To participate in this celebration, simply come to the First Baptist Church of Trussville between 11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m. where Trussville Police will direct all participants where to get in line. The procession will leave the church at 12 p.m. sharp, led by City Officials to Mr. Peoples home on Happy Hollow Road at 12 p.m. where he will be lying in state
Visitors will be allowed to pay their respects from their cars and drive through the circle to offer their condolences to the family. Due to health concerns in our world at this time, we ask that no one get out of your car at any time. You will be able to speak to the immediate family by rolling down your window.
The drive through procession will conclude around 2 p.m. where the body will then be transported to Jefferson Memorial for a private graveside ceremony for immediate family only. Please join us for this celebration.
