MOODY — The city of Moody approved hazardous pay for first responders, during a special-called meeting on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
Each member of the Moody Police and Moody Fire Departments will receive an extra $200 a month.
Police Chief Thomas Hunt said he is thankful city leaders were able to recognize the importance of the jobs of first responders.
“It’s very important in the times we are in right now,” said Hunt. “With the coronavirus going around, first responders, police and fire, are usually the first on the scene and not knowing what we are going into. This is a huge step for our mayor and council to step up and to see that.”
The special meeting was held via teleconference. All city offices in Moody are currently closed to the public.
