BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County School District will continue to provide meal service to students following its partnership with Kikstart, Inc.
The free meal service plans to feed nearly 12,000 meals daily to students aged 18 years or younger.
“We sincerely appreciate Kikstart for stepping up and helping our students,” Dr. Walter Gonsoulin, Superintendent of Jefferson County Schools, said. “They are providing a valuable service during this difficult time.”
The program runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from April 8 through June 5. The school district announced plans for the summer months will be announced at a later date.
Students will be given breakfast and lunch. In order to minimize contact and maintain social distancing,
the program will be curbside pickup only at the following locations:
- Brighton Elementary — 3400 Brown Circle Bessemer, Al 35020
- Clay Chalkville High — 6623 Roe Chandler Road Pinson, Al 35126
- Erwin Intermediate — 528 23rd Ave. NW Center Point, Al 35215
- Fultondale High — 1450 Carson Rd. N. Fultondale, Al 35217
- McAdory High — 4800 McAdory School Rd. McCalla, Al 35111
- Warrior Elementary — 300 Montgomery St. Warrior, Al 35180
- West Jefferson Elementary — 4880 Freewill Drive Quinton, Al 35130
