DORA, Ala. — A powerful image from outside a church in central Alabama is giving Christians hope, after a stormy Easter Sunday.
The photo posted on Facebook by Jared Daniel Bailey shows one of three crosses at Lawler Missionary Baptist Church, still standing. The middle cross, which represents the cross where Jesus was crucified remained standing, while the two crosses on either side fell during the storm.
“The middle cross is still standing!!!” Bailey posted. “#HeLives.”
The National Weather Service received several reports from the area, in Walker County. It is unclear if the damage was caused by straight-line winds or a tornado.
