TRUSSVILLE — Firehouse Subs responded to a stabbing at its Trussville location, one day after the incident.
A 19-year-old employee was arrested on Tuesday, April 21, after police said walked into work and stabbed a 17-year-old co-worker over “name-calling.”
The Firehouse Subs headquarters, located in Jacksonville, Florida, released the following statement on Wednesday:
“We have been made aware of a recent incident at a location in Trussville, Alabama involving two staff members and are working with the local franchise owner to ensure full cooperation with authorities. As a result of this incident, one employee was arrested by Trussville Police and has since been terminated from Firehouse Subs. The safety and security of our staff and guests remains our top priority. As this is an ongoing investigation, we are unable to comment any further at this time.”
The Trussville Police Department is in the process of obtaining a warrant against the suspect, who has not been identified. They believe the charge will be attempted murder.
The victim was taken to UAB Hospital where he was treated for a non-life-threatening injury, according to Detective Ben Short.
