ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (AP) — A person accused of stealing a vehicle died in a single-car crash during a police chase early Thursday morning, authorities in Alabama said.
The stolen vehicle report came in just before the chase began, Marshall County Sheriff Phil Sims said in a statement on Facebook. The driver lost control and crashed at an intersection, resulting in death, Sims said.
High speeds and rain in the area may have contributed to the crash, sheriff’s spokesman Steve Guthrie told AL.com. No deputies were injured, he said.
