TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department announced the arrest of a Birmingham man following the robbery of a residence on Norrell Drive this past Friday.
The TPD arrested Devon Wright, 27, after a robbery call in the 4700 block of Norrell Drive on Friday, April, 24, 2020. Officers arrived to the scene and confirmed that a robbery had indeed taken place; however, the victim declined to press charges.
Witnesses provided a detailed description of the suspect prior to officers scouring the area. After a brief search, officers located Wright in the 1100 block of North Chalkville Road.
Wright attempted to flee but was soon captured. Officers discovered a firearm and a substance that tested positive for the presence of heroin on Wright’s person. He was subsequently charged with Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance, Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest, Attempt to Elude, and Carrying a Pistol without a License.
Wright was transferred to the Jefferson County Jail.
