HOOVER — The man killed in a fiery crash in Hoover on Friday, May 1, 2020, has been identified.
Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates said Jeffery Alan Jones, 36, of Hoover, died when his Dodge Challenger crashed in the 2200 block of Rocky Ridge Road. The crash happened at 7 p.m. and Jones was pronounced dead on the scene at 7:20 p.m.
Police said Jones’ vehicle left the roadway, struck a utility pole and came to rest down an embankment, before catching fire. Jones was unable to escape.
The Hoover Police Department is investigating.
