TRUSSVILLE — Construction on the new Half Shell Oyster House in Trussville is nearing completion and the company hopes to open in mid to late July 2020.
The location of the restaurant is at 218 Main Street, where Dollar General was before it moved in winter 2019. The building has been undergoing renovations in preparation for the new seafood restaurant.
Operations Manager for Half Shell Oyster House, Dino Mirando, said, for the time being, Half Shell Oyster House locations are at 50% capacity due to coronavirus. It is unclear when restrictions will be lifted.
Half Shell Oyster House is based out of Mississippi and offers charbroiled oysters, New Orleans style shrimp, burgers and sandwiches, along with other choices. Seafood specialties include classic Shrimp and Grits and hearty Seafood Pot Pie.
The website promises, “Whatever you choose, it’ll be served with warm Southern hospitality in a unique atmosphere that complements the food.”
Half Shell is currently hiring for the Lakeview location and will be hiring for the Trussville location in June.
