CLAY — A stolen car was recovered in Clay on Sunday, June 7, 2020. Deputies patrolling the city received a Flock Safety alert after the vehicle entered the Steeplechase subdivision, off Old Springville Road.
City officials were unable to release details about the vehicle or the person who was driving it, but they say the recovery of the stolen vehicle is an example of why their investment in Flock Safety cameras will pay off.
The city has a total of 37 cameras. They cost $2,000 each and are placed at the entrances and exits of many subdivisions throughout the city.

The cameras alert Jefferson County deputies to stolen tags, stolen vehicles, and to tags registered to a person with a warrant. The city can also set up hotlists to alert on vehicles wanted.
