WEDOWEE — The Randolph County Rescue Squad is searching for a man after witnesses said he jumped off a cliff on Lake Wedowee and possibly drowned.
ALEA Marine Patrol Troopers said the man, who they believe is in his early 20s, jumped off a rock into the water, resurfaced then went under and didn’t come back up.
The incident happened on Saturday, June 13, about a mile from the Lonnie White Boat Ramp on the Harris Reservoir. Randolph County Sheriff David Cofield said crews were dispatched just after 4:30 p.m.
