TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Country Club will host a charity golf tournament later this month with proceeds benefiting a local child in need of medical equipment.
The AFM Recovery Project Benefit Tournament Presented by Paul Davis Restoration will begin at 9 a.m. on June 26, 2020, at the Trussville Country Club located on 7905 Roper Rd., in Trussville. The event looks to raise $26,000 to help an 11-year-old Gardendale girl with a virus that left her paralyzed.
According to Pat Bentley, the girl went to bed one night and woke up a quadriplegic.
The proceeds from the event will go towards the purchase of an RT300 Leg / Arm / Core Restorative Therapies system that helps restore mass in leg, arm and core muscles with revolutionary functional electrical stimulation.
The cost to participate is $100 per player and $400 per team.
Former Dancing With The Stars contestant and U.S. Army veteran Noah Galloway will participate in the event. Galloway lost his left arm above the elbow and his left leg above the knee while he was driving a Humvee that detonated a IED during his second deployment to Iraq.
To register, call either Bentley (205-937-8544), Kevin Gaiser (205-597-4213) or Joey Thomason (205-470-5992).
