BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham Police were dispatched to two deadly shootings just five minutes apart on Friday, June 26, 2020.
The first call came in at 10:37 p.m. Investigators said a woman was found shot in the breezeway of her apartment building at 1223 12th Street North. She was taken to UAB where she later died. No suspects are in custody.
At 10:42 p.m., Birmingham Police responded to another shooting at 2915 Avenue V. Officers found Stephon Johnson, 26, of Birmingham, in the front room of a home, suffering from a gunshot wound. Johnson was taken to UAB Hospital where he later died. No suspects are in custody but detectives believe the shooting happened after a verbal altercation amongst individuals.
